Getting Paid in Arrears

Speak now in the ears of the people, and let every man borrow of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold. And the Lord gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants, and in the sight of the people. Exodus 11:2‭-‬3 KJV

In accounting, being paid in arrears has implications. It refers to the practice of compensating someone who provides service after the terms have been met. It can also mean that a business is behind on payments. So the arrears accrue from the first date of missed payments. This night in Egypt, God had to ensure the accounts of His people, Israel were caught up. Israel were used as slaves to build Pithom, and Rameses in the northeastern part of the Egyptian delta. So God told them to borrow from their neighbours. To make sure everyone was well compensated, in arrears. God gave them favour before the Egyptians. You don’t cheat Gods people. God has a way of compensating you for where you were cheated. The Egyptians paid four hundred years of salary in a single night. I sense a return of what you thought you lost. They will send for you. You did not suffer the shame for nothing. You are getting paid, in arrears. What a feeling! To imagine God did not allow those financial manipulators go free. Its your turn now.
