In spite of the afflictions

Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Rameses. But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel. Exodus 1:11‭-‬12 KJV

God has a beautiful strategy of making the devil miserable. The more they were afflicted, the more they increased. In Acts 12:1, it is reported that Herod set it upon himself to vex the church. Whenever the devil manufactures this kind of plans, Gods answer is a revival. You see, afflictions bring people closer to God to learn of what they can do( Psa. 119:71 ). Whenever afflictions arise, peoples anguish turn to God. In Psa.34:19, the assurance is that God will deliver from all of them. God did not only increase them, God made the Egyptians miserable over it. This same strategy is suggested in a scientific study done by J. David Hacker. He reports that between 1619 and 1860, the slave population in America exploded from 20 to over 10 million, most by natural births. It looks like afflictions bond people not only to themselves but also to God. Are you experiencing afflictions? Don’t let the enemy steal your bonding. Get close to God. In Acts 12, the people began to pray, and miracles began to happen. In Egypt, midwives began to disobey Pharaoh. You know what that means? Certain death! When you are afflicted, know that Gods help is on the way.
