Leadership Demands More

And the Lord said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them. And Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua: and Moses went up into the mount of God. Exodus 24:12‭-‬13 KJV

You would have thought that having met God and even eat with him , that was all. God is inexhaustible. Now God is about to relate with the main leader where the others are not present. He had to go up higher. This time it was only Moses and his assistant. When Moses was no more, its this assistant that took over. Serious minded leadership demands service under another. That’s a story for another day. It has to take a deeper knowledge to lead others. This time, it had to be the knowledge of the word so others may be taught it. So God kept him for forty day and night just for the word. The depths of the word of God in a man will determine the extent he will go with God. We don’t only need tarry nights for prayers, we need tarry nights for the word. Imagine this: forty days and nights just to learn Gods words. Lord give us men. For every leader, it is important to note that training other assistants to stand in, in your absence is the most outstanding of your priorities. You won’t be here for ever, even if you ate a Moses. So Moses took an assistant, and assigned Aaron and Hur to oversee the people. Moses understood leadership. The day Christ went up to the mount to be transfigured, he took Peter and John to be with him. Don’t be so knowledgeable as a leader that no assistant knows what you do, except you are planning for just your generation. Someone will have to do what you are doing now. They don’t need to reinvent the wheel. Throughout history, revivals died because the assistants were left behind. So God is using you, but who are you going with?
