Now these are the generations of Pharez: Pharez begat Hezron, and Hezron begat Ram, and Ram begat Amminadab, and Amminadab begat Nahshon, and Nahshon begat Salmon, and Salmon begat Boaz, and Boaz begat Obed, and Obed begat Jesse, and Jesse begat David.
Ruth 4:18-22 KJV
In Genesis 38, is the story of Pharez or Perez, born to Tamar and Judah. It pleased the writer to conclude the book of Ruth with a reference to one who was not supposed to be qualified to be in the genealogy, but was anyways. From there the links leads to Obed, and then finally to David. We think the writer is purposely saying, God has done this before. The story of Ruth could simply have been concluded by verse 17. But God was not yet done. God had to allow us see how the genealogy led to Jesus, through David. Your story is not over. You will be a part of the victory song. You are not rated by the circumstance of your birth. You have a destiny. You’re part of the generation to affect the world. God will do anything to put you on the list. Ruth was a temporary detour, the real focus is Jesus. The enemy is waisting time, you are a part of the celebration. Even if you missed the steps, the writer will put you back. The mockers will be surprised you came through. Your story is controlled by the master craftsman. Stay on.
