In July 1958, the Sage Journal published an article by Brevard Childs on Prophecy and Fulfilment. In that vol.12, issue 3, a history of today’s subject was addressed. The problem has been matching new testament events with old testament prophecies. But what of an old testament prophecy fulfilled in the same old testament period? That, the scholars argue little. Today’s reading is one of the old testament prophecies fulfilled. Imagine Joseph recalling the dream he had as his brothers bowed before him. They thought they had you. What they have done is to push you to fulfill prophecies. You probably felt the pains of separation, but you are fulfilling prophecies. The essence of fulfilled prophecies is to let you know God is involved in this matter. Fulfilment showed a prophecy was not spoken presumptuously (Deut 8:22). This was a short term prophecy. The other engaging us now are the ones with the testimony of Jesus. Has God spoken concerning you? Hold unto that word. It will come to pass.
