Stay ahead of the team

And he passed over before them, and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother. And Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him: and they wept. Genesis 33:3‭-‬4 KJV

This is the climax of Gods preparations for Jacob. We are about to face the confrontation between Jacob and Esau. Suddenly Jacob’s leadership took over. He is ahead of the team now. This is very instructive. He is willing to face whatever consequences so long as the children are safe. This man is different from the Jacob of yesterday. Yesterday, he sent everyone ahead, then stayed back. Today, he is ahead, bowing in repentance seven times. Something happened to him the night before. There had been a turning point. Everyone must have this pivotal moment to resolve the conflicts of sin. Its the moment you can face the next sin and you say: You can’t get me again. From this moment on, the story arc dropped. The devil has been defeated. They both wept. We all experience several of these climaxes in our daily walk. Its to test our decisions for follow Christ. Sometimes we will jump with joy. At other times we may cry. Whatever it is, tomorrow belongs to Christ. Jacob is still alive. Thank you Lord! That’s how yours will end. God will not allow the devil to get the upper hand.
