Moses continues the recall.. On January 28, we published a vignette on this subject. That story was from from Numbers 21. This is the recall version of the same event by Moses. Today our concern is an addition to what we posted that day. The fact that you have been given a possession does not imply you may occupy it. That you’ve located the will of God does not imply you have walked in it. So many in life have passed on only seeing what was meant to be their possession ahead of them. May you not leave the scene, just beholding afar off things you were meant to have enjoyed. So Moses told them they had to do battle. To the younger generation, this historical perspective is now making meaning. They now understood why there was so much war. They always had to be a blowing of the trumpet. Its not over because you have one testimony. You must have all things subject to the new government in Christ. The christian life is a call to battle, not just for yourself, but also for your children and others who must enter into their possessions. The mentality we must carry is that the battle is already won for us. Sihon is already given to us, so we must, comb out the stragglers. The command is from your King, you are winning here.

The Command to Battle
Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.
