God was not going to let Moses leave quietly. He wanted him to leave celebrated. What better thing than the defeat of the very nation that caused Israel to sin at Baal Peor. God has not forgotten the Balak country. Moses started immediately. He has to leave a clean slate. He mobilized a thousand fighting men from each tribe. It must have been a sight to behold twelve thousand fighting men. The battle was won before they started. God was behind them. Let no one think they can deal with you and go scot free. God is too wise to let that happen. He has plan for all your enemies. He says: Vengeance is mine( Rom.12:19 ). While a child of God may appear weak, the truth is that Christian has strength in the Lord. If you provoke Him, you will live to remember it. All males and grown women were killed in the battle. The culture of the Midianites were wiped out in a single night. The soldiers returned for thanksgiving and to report, they had no loss. Moses left a satisfied man. He didn’t have an argument left. God honoured him. He lived all his life a transparent leader. May God bring you into a successful end despite what you are experiencing at the moment.
And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: afterward shalt thou be gathered unto thy people. Numbers 31:1-2 KJV
