The Lord’s Passover

And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire. And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Lord’s passover.
Exodus 12:10‭-‬11 KJV

The greatest need of Israel was to leave Egypt. God was about to take them out in style. So He instituted a passover. This happened just before the final plague. They were to kill a passover lamb per household or combine with neighbours. The blood was to be put on the doorposts. One of its purpose was to provide a way of escape from the angels of death. The deep reality is that even Israelites qualified for death. They were just as guilty before God. Someone says,Marking the door with blood signified that death had already taken place in the household judgement had been meted out”. So the angel had to pass over that home. That act was pro typical, repeated in the death of Jesus. Jesus was the consummate passover lamb( 1Cor.5:7). John recognized that(John1:29), Peter recognized it(1Peter1:19). In fact Jesus was crucified at passover time. The life we live as Christians are a gift (Rom.6:23) because of the lamb. This act foreshadowed what will happen to us in the new testament. Now you are free to dance. No Pharaoh is strong enough to keep you in bondage. Whatever the enemy is trying to do, there is an end. That should have been in caps for emphasis. I know you understand. Wake up and feel the air. Your passover lamb has taken your place.
