The Reconnaissance Mission

Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them.
Numbers 13:2 KJV

This story is not only told here, but also in Deuteronomy one. Its just like yesterday they left Egypt, but forty years have passed. God has been faithful with them. Today, acting by divine direction, Moses is sending men to soy the land for several purposes. Someone outlines them these way: ” ⁃ whether the people who lived there were strong or weak, few or many (Numbers 13:18)
⁃ whether the land was good or bad (Numbers 13:19)
⁃ whether the cities were like camps or strongholds
⁃ whether the land was rich or poor (Numbers 13:20)
⁃ whether or not there were forests there”. The goals were beautiful and ambitious. They had arrived. It took twelve soldier leaders to bring back the information. Reconnaissance is essential in strategic prayer warfare. It gives intercessors an overview of a territory to be taken and the strongholds to deal with. I know a Bishop who had to discard his attire to do this in Nigerian cities before calling the people to city wide prayer fast. Need less to tell you the result was good. We have personally used this strategy to occupy where we had previously been rejected. Spiritual warfare is not a game. Its serious business. It is not just saying the Lords prayer. Its a strategic dislodgement of evil forces entrenched in a territory. Don’t just move into a house, a factory, a shop or even a land. Take captive of the ruling authorities before you settle into it. Strategic reconnaissance are essential.
