The Search for ”the Man”

And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is? Genesis 41:38 KJV

The prophet Ezekiel reports in chapter 22:30 that God looked for a man who could stand in the gap for the land. Psa.106:23, reports that Moses stood in breach to divert Gods anger. Isaiah says there was no man to intercede.( Isa.59:16; 63:5) in his time. Jeremiah cried( Jer.5:1) that there was no man who seeks the truth. Even Abraham could not find five righteous men in Sodom. The entire Bible is in search for men. Don’t misunderstand that to mean only the male figure. ”Iysh” could mean a man, a champion or a leader. Pharaohs question is not rhetorical. It takes a man with the spirit of God to answer the problems of life. Political and traditional selections have failed. If you want results, you must have a man in whom the spirit of God dwells. History is actually that search all over the world. What a question! What will your generation be? Myles Munroe calls such a one a person of purpose. Victor Frankl says such a man has found meaning, so can bear anything. To Pharaoh, this was too good to be true. Maybe you are the one the world is waiting for. Tomorrow, we will see the man. Today, meditate on it because you could be the one. Good morning.
