So Gideon, and the hundred men that were with him, came unto the outside of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch; and they had but newly set the watch: and they blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers that were in their hands. And the three companies blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow withal: and they cried, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.
Judges 7:19-20 KJV
There was going to be a divine military strategy for Israel to win in this war. Their number had been pruned to three hundred. A strategy is ”a carefully devised plan of action to achieve a goal, or the art of developing or carrying out such”. When we get our strategies from God, we make fewer mistakes in the execution of life battles. The focus is getting the details from God. In this war, they didn’t shoot an arrow or draw a sword. In fact, they stood on one spot while blowing with their trumpets (v.21). That’s not how to fight between the hours of twelve and four in the morning. Their only night vision were lights in a pitcher. God was involved in this strategy. What’s your strategy for your life battles? Where are you drawing the strategies from? Eccl.10:15 explains what happens when we fight without a strategy. It is tiring. Watch these strategies: the time, the light, the shout and the standing. That’s what got victory for the day. Those same elements may be used of God in a different combination for your victory. God is set to give you a victory. You won’t need to struggle. Just pray and listen. There’s a way out.
