Moses arrived Midian, a fugitive. He had only one thing that gave him an accommodation, a family and a wife. It was the single act of helping the daughters of the Priest of Midian. In an article of Sunday Guardian 2021, Gbenga Adebambo examines the fact that money is the lowest form of wealth. He says that real wealth is in relationships. He says that it us your ‘connection’ that determines your ‘collection’. What he means by that is that what life will give to you is dependent on the value of your relationships. Your connections are an inexhaustible supply. Moses by a single act of helping the girls released the secret to progress. Zig Ziglar says you can have everything in life you want, if you will help other people get what they want. That is not just a social quote. God created us to be useful to one another. Moses helped the daughters of a very significant man in Midian. Adebambo continues that relationships can open doors in a moment which your degrees will not open in a lifetime. The reason is simple: the qualities of your relationships are related to the opportunities you will be exposed to. What Moses did is described in the New Testament as laying down one’s life for another(John 15:13). Jesus is the prime example. Its the principle of putting others first. It may mean giving up your conveniences, time or energy for others. Try it. It works.
