What You Want May Harm You

Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them. And Samuel told all the words of the LORD unto the people that asked of him a king. 1 Samuel 8:9‭-‬10 KJV

When I was very much younger, I wanted an aeroplane. My father didn’t appear to be bothered by it. No I wasn’t looking for a toy, I wanted the real thing. I see you giggling because you probably wanted the same thing. At that age I had no idea of the simple cost of aviation fuel, not to talk about demurrage for parking a plane. All I wanted was a plane. Today as a grandfather, I giggle when my grandson wanted one. I know better. When Israel looked for a King, God understood that they did not understand. So Hod told Samuel to listen to them, but give them a solemn warning of the policies of the King. The chapter ends with the warnings. Prayers must be in alignment with the word of God. God is not obligated to give answers to foolishness. If you keep pressing out of ignorance , you may get answers, but it won’t benefit you. Be satisfied in the will of God for you. You don’t need to be like others. All answers may not be in alignment with the will of God. That is why God does not answer foolish prayers. That you have prayed may satisfy your flesh, but if does not satisfy heavens policies, you nay not get an answer. Like my father, God may tell you, ” I’m thinking about it ”. I just kept wondering what if I got the aeroplane? Thank God your father didn’t die when you were angry with him, and wished him dead. What you want nay harm you.
