God Swore To David

‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭3:9‭-‬10‬ ‭KJV‬‬ [9] So do God to Abner, and more also, except, as the LORD hath sworn to David, even so I do to him; [10] to translate the kingdom from the house of Saul, and to set up the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beer-sheba.

This was public knowledge… that God had sworn the throne of Israel to David. In October, 23, 2023, we talked about this anointing. David was picked from the field in 1Sam.16:12-13. The anointing was supposed to be secret. But anointing on any man can not be secret. Soon everyone knew about it. Here is the man who stopped David from ruling over Israel uttering it. He knew God swore it to David, but he wanted to play some politics with Ish-bosheth. He stopped David for seven and a half year. For this act, he paid with his life. Joab will kill him later. There’s a gap between the promise and fulfilment. Here is Patricia Holland on a similar thought: ” Any time you get a promise from God, a promise means that God’s going to do it. But between the promise and the fulfillment of the promise, there’s this gap. A waiting time”. Holland dealt with what Abraham did during the waiting time. We are concerned with the fact that the gap is not a denial by God. Abner said: God swore it to David. When God speaks, His words are yeah and Amen. It beautiful to see God fulfill His word by a love affair. God will do anything to bring His promise to you. Hang on. Note that Ish-bosheth did not say a word. Yet he was the king. Your inheritance is coming back as God promised you. I wish there was space for testimonies. God is restoring what was stolen from you.
