Seeing Reality By Faith

Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in. And the Lord said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.
Joshua 6:1‭-‬2 KJV

”Excuse me God, did you read the first verse?”That was my first reaction, and perhaps to Joshua too. The NIV says the gates were securely barred. GNB says the gates were shut and guarded. Now you won’t be surprised to find Joshua alone in the field. He had to find a way in or his leadership was finished before he starts. God read the first verse, but God operates by faith. He speaks of those things that be not as if they were. So God ignores the first verse and continues to give instructions to Joshua. In fact, God says He has already given to Joshua the King of Jericho and its men of valour. You have to know God to understand that He is using the language of faith. If you’re ever going to walk with God, or lead a team successfully, you have to walk in faith and speak as God speaks. Faith is speaking of those things that be not as if they were. No reality was going to deter God. Ron and Mary Bennett describe faith as, ” ..referring to a trust in something real, yet unseen that inspires action in the direction of that belief”. That’s what every child of God needs. Friedrich Nietzsche was wrong about faith when he said that it is not wanting to know what is true. Faith is more true than current reality. What’s your current reality? Don’t speak it. Speak what God intends you to become. It may make you look funny and ridiculous. It may even make it look like you’re boastful. Keep speaking the word reality about you. By the end of the chapter, you will learn that Gods reality is the real reality. That’s what yours will be.
