The Influence of the Real Leader

And Moses rose up and went unto Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him. And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins.
Numbers 16:25‭-‬26 KJV

Leadership influence is what every leader needs to function and solve problems. It is the same influence that an opposition lead carries, but without the character of the real leader. Someone describes this influence as , ”… the ability a person has to change values, beliefs or attitudes about a topic. It’s a skill you can learn as you gain more experience as a leader. A leader can use their knowledge and speaking ability to offer a new perspective or new information to an audience or team” .( Dec.15:2021 ). Myles Munroe puts it in a more surgical pattern: ” “Leadership is the capacity to influence others through inspiration motivated by passion, generated by vision, produced by a conviction, ignited by a purpose.” Now you can feel what was happening within Moses. If he kept quiet, his entire labour for all these years will be wasted. So he took some leaders with him, and made bold pronouncements. God honoured him. The fear of God returned and respect came upon the congregation. Leaders who can influence like Moses did can inspire change, or generate new ideas and strategies without too much struggle. I always used to wonder how Jesus survived for so long in the midst of a murky and stifling culture. Jesus had influence. He could even whip traders in church and go scot free. If you’re aspiring to be a leader, in all your getting, get influence. It will change things.
