Bring Back The King!

‭2 Samuel 19:9-11 KJV‬ [9] And all the people were at strife throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, The king saved us out of the hand of our enemies, and he delivered us out of the hand of the Philistines; and now he is fled out of the land for Absalom. [10] And Absalom, whom we anointed over us, is dead in battle. Now therefore why speak ye not a word of bringing the king back? [11] And king David sent to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, saying, Speak unto the elders of Judah, saying, Why are ye the last to bring the king back to his house? seeing the speech of all Israel is come to the king, even to his house.

It is very significant that other tribes were at peace with the King, except his tribe. The rebellion of Absalom was deep here that there were still divisions. That is the devils strategy. Even when the enemy has lost the battle, it still wants to create divisions. King David was a veteran. So he sent the religious leaders, not the soldiers to them. Our political leaders can learn from David. If for any reason David had sent Joab, it would have had dire consequences. So David made appeals, and a proposal to the military commander. Britannica reports the importance of Judah in Israel’s polity at this time. ” The tribe of Judah settled in the region south of Jerusalem and in time became the most powerful and most important tribe”. David needed their cooperation. It takes leadership grace to do what David. You don’t always have to win by force. You can win by peaceful negotiations also. Today find out possible peaceful avenues to win. Heb.12:14 says,”. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord”. Receive peace for accomplishments today.
