Judah Came To Gilgal, To Meet The King

‭2 Samuel 19:12,14-15 KJV‬ [12] Ye are my brethren, ye are my bones and my flesh: wherefore then are ye the last to bring back the king? [14] And he bowed the heart of all the men of Judah, even as the heart of one man; so that they sent this word unto the king, Return thou, and all thy servants. [15] So the king returned, and came to Jordan. And Judah came to Gilgal, to go to meet the king, to conduct the king over Jordan.

King David came from Mahanaim to the eastern part of Jordan while the representatives of Judah came from the opposite direction. Mathew Henry sees the event as Gods providence for David. ” God’s providence, by the priests’ persuasions and Amasa’s interest, brought the people to resolve the recall of the king. David stirred not till he received this invitation”. He goes on to explain that, ” Our Lord Jesus will rule in those that invite him to the throne in their hearts, and not till he is invited. He first bows the heart, and makes it willing in the day of his power, then rules in the midst of his enemies, Ps 110:2,3”. It is significant that David was willing to wait to be invited by Judah. David has done this before… the willingness to wait for the cooperation of his people. You will be accepted where you were rejected. The very people will come to you. Providence is on your side. Ask Jephthah. God is on your side. You will get back the throne. David did. He even got apologies too. Your season is about to change.
