Your Association Determines What Happens To You

And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us. Joshua 10:6 KJV

There’s a popular saying that your company in life determines what accompanies you. It determines what happens to you and your acceleration. This is very true of today’s verse. Associating with the Gibeonites galvanised five kings to bond together against them. This automatically activated the covenant they entered into with Israel. Because they had acknowledged their mistakes, God had mercies on them. Who do you associate with? Who are your mentors and influencers? The Bible gives us a direction on this matter. Psa.1:1 says you can’t accompany with the ungodly, no matter how enticing they may be. 1Cor.15:33 sums it well, ” Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character.”( NLT). Your company is important. That’s why it took Christ deep prayer time to choose his company. Paul Enenche, one of Nigeria’s foremost ministers adds that your association will determine your collection.
And that who you know and flow with determines what you can show. The Gibeonites understood this. Would you be missing certain help because of who you associate with? Take time to select your association whether at work or leisure. There are some people who should leave your life for there to be progress. A word is enough for the wise.
