The Dedication of Aaron and His Sons

And thou shalt take the other ram; and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the ram. Then shalt thou kill the ram, and take of his blood, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of Aaron, and upon the tip of the right ear of his sons, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about. Exodus 29:19‭-‬20 KJV

Two rams were brought to the consecration. The one was for a burnt offering and had to be entirely burnt. The other was for the consecration proper which empower the Priests to perform religious duties and offer sacrifices. Certain details stand out when the ram was killed. Moses had to put the blood on the right ear, thumb and right toes of the Priests. This was not just procedure. The ram represents Christ whose death sanctifies: 1. What they will hear from now on. They must hear God first, but they must also hear the needs of men. 2. Right thumb signifies the quality of their delivery in the service of God. It speaks of their work. 3. The right toes speaks of their walk with God. It is possible to do things for God without being with God. Our walk with God must be what should guide our work for God. Today these three secrets still guide how we function in the presence of God. In the old testament, it was for the Priests. In the New Testament we are are all Priests and Kings. Our walk, work and hearing must be dedicated to make us different. There are too many voices in the world. The difference is in who you hear, walk with and work for.
