The Emergence of the Leader

Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying, Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the Lord your God giveth you to possess it. Joshua 1:10‭-‬11 KJV

We could spend days on this verse talking about this emergent leader. There are enough literature on the matter, however, if you’re are looking emergent leaders. Our concern today is the authority Joshua demonstrates: ” Pass through the host and command the people..”. He knew he was now in charge. The vision will either stand or fail on his watch. He has just finished talking with God. Its now time for action. So long as there was no leader, there was no movement. When a project or a vision stalemates, its probably because the leader did not hear what Joshua heard. God had given the promise: I will be with you. Does that remind you of the New Testament promise? Mat.28:20, John 7:33, 13:33, Acts18:10, Heb.13:5. You can take it to the store, God’s promise to be with you is as certain as there are night and day. When God is with you, you will lead well. Crave for God’s assurance of being with you.
