The Hands of Moses.

And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. Exodus 17:11‭-‬12 KJV

When Moses lifted up his hands, we are made aware of the relationship between his hands and victory in the war. So his lifted hands were not just a nonverbal activity expressed by an old man in desperation. Moses was contacting things in the spirit realm to influence the physical. His battle was heavier than that of Joshua. Jesus did a similar thing just before the cross. He went with the disciples to a place to pray. The spiritual events in the realm of the spirit made the disciples heavy with sleep(Mark 14:37-40) but, it made Jesus sweat like drops of blood. Someone has to affect the heavens to get the results on earth. Things don’t just happen. They are made to happen. The enemy knows that he who has the spirit controls the day. He will be busy trying to occupy you in the physical so that he can rule the spirit. Well, Moses was smart, so was Joshua. We didn’t hear Joshua say: ” ”So you’re going to the mountain while we fight?”. He knew that was necessary for the battle to go well. What do you do to control the spirit realm? Some people resort to reason, others to transcendental meditation, creative visualization, self hypnosis or affirmations. These are banal trials. Do what Elijah did. Fall between your knees and call heaven to assist the earth in the name of Jesus. The victory surely will be yours.
