Victory Turned Into Mourning

‭2 Samuel 19:1-3 KJV‬ [1] And it was told Joab, Behold, the king weepeth and mourneth for Absalom. [2] And the victory that day was turned into mourning unto all the people: for the people heard say that day how the king was grieved for his son. [3] And the people gat them by stealth that day into the city, as people being ashamed steal away when they flee in battle.

Its not always results that make the day. I have had to tell some going ministers these for decades. Obedience to the Kings instruction is what we must celebrate. Today the battle is won, but the King is not in place by the gate to welcome the soldiers. The victory is soured because someone decided to define how the king must be happy. Some young folks have the saying, ” results will stop insults’:. Whose results are we talking about? Divine results must follow divine protocols. Protocols may be described as ” the official procedure or system of rules governing affairs of state or diplomatic occasions”. This about Gods government and order. You nay be concerned now about stopping nonsense, is it in alignment with divine protocols? Joab broke protocols and got a crying King David. God, do we make you cry? Does God get heartbroken because we have become callous and insensitive to his word and protocols. We shared how God stood on the rock Moses struck. He was expected to point to the rock and speak. He decided to hit the rock. Water did come out, but Moses lost entering into the promise land. If you make the King cry in secret, you will get the result in public. Joab made the King cry…..really? Watch out for the result.
