Sometimes You Fight For It

And Israel sent messengers unto Sihon king of the Amorites, saying, Let me pass through thy land: we will not turn into the fields, or into the vineyards; we will not drink of the waters of the well: but we will go along by the king’s high way, until we be past thy borders. Numbers 21:21‭-‬22 KJV

Life will not just cone to you on a plater of gold. You may not have to continue begging your way through life. Sometimes you have to put down the loads and fight your way through. Now Israel was done with negotiations. This was their last. They was going to take matters into its ow hands. So they reported the matter to God first. That is very instructive. Get your directions from God, before you embark on the final push. God gave them a go-ahead. From negotiations, they went to war. This is how the King James renders the next verse: ” And Sihon would not suffer Israel to pass through his border: but Sihon gathered all his people together, and went out against Israel into the wilderness: and he came to Jahaz, and fought against Israel. ”.(v23.). Maybe the devil didn’t get it. They couldn’t take it anymore. Its at this point that great breakthroughs come. One day Jesus told the people who came to intimidate him to go and tell the fox who sent them, that he still had time. You can’t take the insults forever. You’ve begged enough. Take on that fox on your knees and engage him in battle. At moments like this, fear retreats. Maybe, your case demands a settling: just to know whether God is still on your side. You’ll be surprised, the devil will tuck its tail between its legs. Phew! Thank you Jesus! I strongly think its time to settle this matter on your knees.
