The Final Good bye For A Leader.

And the Lord said unto Moses, Get thee up into this mount Abarim, and see the land which I have given unto the children of Israel. And when thou hast seen it, thou also shalt be gathered unto thy people, as Aaron thy brother was gathered. Numbers 27:12‭-‬13 KJV

Every good leadership eventually ends on earth. I’ve had cause to read these verses several times. God had to be a God of justice. He did not kill Moses at the waters of Meribah, but He was not going to allow Moses to pass over. God stood on the rock when Moses lost it with the people: ” Shall I bring you water out of this rock?” , he said. God still honoured him. He should have been dead. I feared when I noticed that God stood on that rock. That single act qualified him for today. His goal was within sight, but his era was over. May God have mercy on all leaders. Be conscious, you won’t live for ever. Tomorrow we’ll talk about succession planning, but today let’s be satisfied with the fact that God honoured Moses. This is the report in Deuteronomy: ” And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face ” ( 34:10 KJV ). What a testimony! Moses understood God. He dud not contest his transition. He was only concerned for the people. His era had cone to an end. It was going to take a different calling to take the people in. No one is ever prepared for the end of an era. It takes wisdom to look ahead. You wont be here for ever. For now, God is with you. Cease your opportunities.
