The Judges of the Tribes

Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel. Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward. I have waited for thy salvation, O Lord. Genesis 49:16‭-‬18 KJV

Dan was the 5th son from Rachel’s maid, Bilhah. He had only one son named Hushim. Before his birth, Rachel had suffered infertility for sometimes. His delivery is celebrated in Gen.30:6. His name is translated as Judge. Samson, one of the greatest judges in Israel came from this tribe. However, the people of Dan fell into apostasy and that brought Gods judgement upon them. This is revealed in the prediction that Dan will be like a serpent in the garden. In Judges the Danites could even steal a god. Danites are entirely removed in Revelation 7 in the future state of Israel. The reason is simple: you don’t play games with God. His mercies will endure for a season. At judgement there will be no more mercies. If a whole tribe can be removed from the list, what about a single name? My prayer is that we must not loose our place when the roll is called up yonder. They were meant to be judges, then they lost it to the very law they were meant to protect. You are in a better season for quality decisions. Don’t wait till judgement.
