The Return of Zipporah

When Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses’ father in law, heard of all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, and that the Lord had brought Israel out of Egypt; Then Jethro, Moses’ father in law, took Zipporah, Moses’ wife, after he had sent her back, Exodus 18:1‭-‬2 KJV

We are not told why Zipporah, Moses’s wife returned to the father. We may surmise that it relates to the differences between Moses and her on the matter circumcision. (Ex.4:24). Even the Midrash expansion gives little help. The general opinion is that Moses and his wife were separated. After the father in-law heard of all that God had done with Israel, he brought the wife and children to him. This return signalled the introduction of Jethro into the leadership of Moses. It will introduce management systems not used by Moses since their departure from Egypt. Be on the watch out for the help God will send beyond just victories. Zipporah will return. God’s intention is to have you established( Rom.16:25-27). That is to place you securely and permanently in your accomplishments. God will do this by sending someone into your life.
