Lord, I have a Problem!

The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. Exodus 14:14 KJV

On August 11, 2020, I had a stirring to write a poem. This verse reminds me of that poem. Here it is:

My Transformation

The devil throw down the gauntlet. He expected me to pick it up.
He wanted my actions to precipitate the brawl.
He had studied my emotions of the past.
The world watched, knowing I should fail.
I knew from my past I’ve already failed

My chemistry rushed for the default.
Then the master showed me a different way.
Suddenly I knew…. I didn’t need to pick the fight.
I may look like I’ve lost the game;
But wisdom brought the change.

I lost the battle, but got victory in the war.
Wisdom took me through.
My friends were confused.
We saw you loose the game.
“ I know. I even thought so myself”
But, transformation is the wisdom of God…Bassey Daniel

For a great majority of us, we like to fight our battles. Leaning to leave it in the hands of God, becomes a problem. Don’t mistake it, the warfare nay continue on your knees, but you won’t insist on doing something about it…to prove who you are. A Nobel Laureate in Nigeria had wisdom enough to say: ” A tiger does not need to prove its tigritude”. He was arguing against labels on African literature. Even so, a child of God doesn’t need to swear to prove that God is on your side. There are moments to hold your peace and pray like Jesus( Mat.26:39). When we cease interfering, God takes over. Today, breathe in, and let God take over. God did not plan that all solutions must come from your attempts. Just come with me as we read the rest of the story to find out what God did.
