The Cloud Moved From Sinai to Paran.

And it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up from off the tabernacle of the testimony. And the children of Israel took their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Paran. Numbers 10:11‭-‬12 KJV

In one of the Faithlife Sermons, Jerry Underwood makes a point that is useful to our discourse today. Here it is: ”… the Pillar of Cloud … given to Israel for their guidance across the wilderness speaks to us of God the Holy Spirit ”. That is what is demonstrated in the verses above, the leadership of the Holy Spirit. I can imagine the trumpet sounding early in the morning announcing: ” the cloud has moved! ” Today you will hear no sound. You will learn to discern the leading of the Holy Spirit within you. Today we are more concerned with your sensitivity to the ”trumpet”, of the Holy Spirit( Rom.8:14 ). The word declares today that Gods sheep hears His voice and follow it.( John 10:27 ). To develop this, you must: 1 Develop a good appetite for the word of God., 2. Don’t delay to act on the word of God, 3. Pursue spiritual desires, 4. Pray the word you’ve received, 5. Learn to response to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. In the Old testament, you only needed to watch the clouds. Today you need to listen in. You will surely hear the word: thus is the way, walk in it.
