The Need to Learn Fast

And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. And the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Numbers 21:5‭-‬6 KJV

Today’s fast paced roles in the world require we learn fast and quickly. The same apply in the realm of the spirit. In a work situation, someone says that, ” Fast learning also goes beyond just comprehension — you need to be able to show that you can apply what you learned to your work.” That is the problem of this verse today. You would wonder whether they couldn’t learn quickly that every time they murmur, it attracted punishment from God. God does indeed hate murmuring. Its the beginning of every rebellion. In a normal work situation, here is a list of words that may be used to describe a fast learner: Active listener, Adaptable, Attentive learner, Details oriented,, Receptive to training, Research focused, Resourceful, versatile, etc. These are not original to me. They are clusters used by researchers to describe fast learners. Non of these could be applied to the people of Israel, yet these clusters are the very characteristics needed for a fast learning and growing christian life. They spoke against Gid and Moses again? Were they affected by short term memory disease? Ironically this still happens in modern times. We need to learn fast. That’s why those leaders in the temple were astonished at Jesus when the parent left him behind at the temple. Is there a lesson you need to learn fast? You will avoid a lot of cost by learning fast in life and in the spirit.
