The Plight Of Leaders

And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.
Numbers 20:12 KJV

This has been a very humbling verse for me. It is possible to be in the limelight of leadership and miss the reward. Moses had one moment when self took over. He had taken so much from the people. He showed up and missed Gods instructions. I was shocked that God answered him. Getting answers may not be the proper judge of character. Stop telling me that results will stop insults. Moses got result and missed the main examination. You can’t preach to others and become a castaway. Moses regretted this emotional reaction for the rest of his leadership tenure. I felt it for him and Aaron. They should have had a second chance. The people had theirs, but they were the leaders. Leaders are judged differently, even on earth. So while you aspire, don’t expire. Jesus took a decision to come and die. When the weight was to heavy, he negotiated with the father. There was no answer. He was a leader. The story is told of Apostle John who was left on a barren island of Patmos. He must have prayed. God was silent. He wrote the book of Rev He was a leader. Are you experiencing things because you are a leader? Don’t get emotional in divine assignments. Follow instructions. We may not all understand how you feel. God does. Follow Him.
